Specialist Data Governance

General Summary

Support the Data Governance Leaders in developing and executing our ESA Group data management strategy. managing the day-to-day operations of the governance team and overseeing all aspects of defining and regularly monitoring operationalized data management policies, processes, and standards across the ESA Group. responsible for ensuring data integrity, quality, and security across the organization. Update and implements data governance policies, standards, and procedures.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Key Accountabilities)

  • Implement Procedures: Implement Data Governance and Management operating procedures and processes across ESA
  • Develop Strategy: Provide support in developing data strategy and data management implementation plans across business units at ESA
  • Update Policies: Review, update, and create data governance and management policies and processes on a periodic basis
  • Manage Change: Develop change management materials and conduct data governance and management trainings
  • Daily Operations: Perform daily operational data governance activities
  • Issue Resolution: Resolve data governance issues and challenges on a daily basis

 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Document Activities: Document data governance activities within ESA and prepare compliance and quality reports
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with ESA stakeholders to gather feedback and address concerns
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to data governance

 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities (required)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

  • Strong understanding of the different data management areas with a strong grip on Data Governance specifically
  • Proven experience in defining policies, standards, and procedures, preferably related to technical areas such as data or IT
  • Knowledge of Project management methodology/SDLC/PLC processes
  • Excellent people & problem-solving skills; strong critical thinking and communication skills (verbal, non-verbal)

 

 

Minimum Education Qualifications (Must Haves)

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science or related field)

 

 

Preferred professional training (Nice to have)

  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)

Professional Experience (Must Haves)

 

  • 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related role
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing data governance teams or projects
  • Strong background in developing and implementing data governance policies, procedures, and frameworks
  • In-depth knowledge of data protection regulations, compliance standards, and best practices
  • Hands-on experience with daily operational data governance activities, including issue resolution and process optimization
