Mechanical Expert

General Summary:

Senior Mechanical Engineer (DRP) - is responsible for the evaluation of technical bids and recommendations, to ensure
the safe & timely execution of the "Direct Reduction Plant" project with a key focus on the design & selection of energy efficient
equipment to minimize energy consumption and eco-friendly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Key Accountabilities):
Technology, equipment selection:
Gather and prepare the necessary information to enable the selection of suitable and effective technology and equipment
design to meet the project requirements for the Direct Reduction plant.
Ensure design and implementation of Eco Friendly equipment adopting sustainable and low energy solutions and
wherever possible include value engineering .
Active participation during the engineering stage with the OEM/EPC for review and comment on engineering and process
documents.
Project Stage:
Carry out all project-related management activities including setting safety standards, planning, monitoring & inspections,
budgeting, quality control, supply of materials and management of contractors.
Participation with the OEM/EPC during Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Tests for Critical Equipment.
Active participation & progress monitoring with the OEM/EPC during Site Erection.
Raise Non Confirmation Notes and defect reports during the construction and execution of the projects.

Commissioning, PGT and Handover:
Review commissioning and start-up procedures and check lists, monitoring pre commissioning, cold commissioning & hot
commissioning activities till Performance Guarantee Tests (PGT).
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders during the commissioning process and final acceptance including the
transfer of final and as-built documentation.
Preparing annual budgets for approval to allow a cost effective maintenance service within the allocated approved
budget.
Support the Mechanical Maintenance resources for planning and execution of maintenance activities during initial plant
hand over.
Trouble shooting and RCA studies for improvements & rectification during the warranty period.
National Development Program: Assist in developing U.A.E. national trainees / employees to prepare them ready for
acquiring targeted positions in line with IDP developed as per company policies.
Health, Safety & Environment: To lead by example and establish a proactive healthy working culture within the work
place. Develop, implement and monitor safety systems, procedure and practices compliant with Safety & Environmental
standards.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities
• Meetings : Attend, project related meetings at various stages of project
• FAT: Attend, witness and approve factory acceptance tests on behalf of EMSTEEL
• Provide support for obtaining Permits/ Approvals for the Project as needed by various authorities.
• Housekeeping : Ensure all project sites housekeeping is of the highest standard.

Minimum Education Qualifications {Must Haves)
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Preferred professional training {Nice to
Have)

• Project management tools
• Piping Certification course
• Exposure to SAP & Codification

Professional Experience {Must Haves)

12 years in steel plant Project Management
Conversant with DR Plant processes.
Proficient in managing mechanical activities of
DR Plant
Engineering Management Experience.
