General Summary
To perform the maintenance activities of Steel Melting Plant in order to achieve the assigned targets such as minimize plant down time and increase the plant availability & consumption of spares with cost consciousness
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Implement Production Optimization:
· To execute all scheduled (day-to-day, preventive) maintenance, corrective maintenance and major repairs of the equipments in order to optimize production & minimize plant down time for maintenance related development works
Facilitate Corrective Action:
· Assist the Shift Group for trouble shooting during breakdowns of mechanical equipments and to help find out the root cause for corrective action maintenance related development works.
Prevent System Abnormalities:
· Assist the Shift Group for attending mechanical maintenance problems during breakdowns in the Steel Plant. To communicate to superiors of any abnormalities found in the plant in order to plan & rectify the same.

Meet Engineering/ Safety Principles:
· Inspection of equipments to meet engineering principles and safety regulations in maintenance related development works.
Assistance & Support:
· To assist and help the Superiors in Mechanical Maintenance (SM Plant) in all technical areas to ensure smooth maintenance of the Steel Plant for uninterrupted production and co-ordination with other departments.
Following Standards:
· Follow mechanical maintenance standards for all equipment in the SM Plant.
Observe Health, Safety and Environmental practices:
· To follow all relevant safety, quality, health and environmental management policies, procedures applicable to maintenance related development.

Minimum Education Qualification (Education Degree)
Any preferred professional training
I.T.I. in Mechanical Fitter trade
Technical knowledge of predictive & preventive maintenance of Steel Melting Plant
Knowledge & Skill of Trouble Shooting of Steel Melting Plant.
Understanding of engineering drawings
Basic computer skills
Professional Experience (Must haves)
3-5 years experience in Mechanical maintenance of Steel Plant as a Technician / Fitter
Previous Experience/exposure Recommendations
Knowledge of rigging and slinging
Knowledge of Gas Cutting
Key Performance Indicators
Practice Health, Safety and Environment programs to attain Zero accidents.
· Ensure the plant availability by performing PM, CM & breakdown activities within the stipulated time.
· Maximize spares utilization to maintain the OPEX expenditures within the limits set by the department.
· Ensure that ES established procedures, work instructions & standards are practiced during job performance.
· Provide solutions or ideas in solving underlying issues within the plant.
