Trainer - Workplace Safety

 

Role Purpose

The Trainer is responsible for delivering and continuously improving Health & Safety training programs to ensure workforce awareness, regulatory compliance, and effective risk control across operations.

This role supports the implementation of corporate training standards by ensuring that all employees are adequately trained, assessed, and aware of operational risks, critical controls, and safe work practices.

 

Accountability & Activities

Key Activities

  1. Responsibilities:
  • Coordination of Corporate Health and Safety programs field implementation.
  • Prepare in House training packages to raise Health and Safety Awareness within the EMSTEEL units.
  • Provide advice on coaching for high-risk activities including but not limited to Permit to work, Confined Space, working at Heights, working on live equipment, Hot Work, Lifting Operations. Development of a positive safety culture.
  • Review if required suitability of the health and safety Training of EMSTEEL units Contractors.
  • Produce the required monthly reports on delivered training sessions. 
  • Ensure health and safety related legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures are made available to necessary departments during Health and Safety training sessions.
  • Represent the HSSE Department during improvement meetings if required.
  • On the job training for the supervisory operational staff on procedures and standards
  • Conduct gas analysis or feasibility studies to improve the training modules or training methodology.
  • Conduct periodic operational site visits to assess training effectiveness.
  • Produce written and pictorial Health, and Safety related material to achieve best practice.
  • Support on preparation and maintenance of the Training Needs Analysis (TNA)
  • Prepare the Health and Safety Training schedule (Calendar) for the year.
  • Prepare Health and Safety Training performance and evaluation reports for H&S Training.
  • Deliver the Health and safety training as per the designed TNA.
  1. Ensure Safety and Regulatory Compliance:
  • Support the promotion of a strong safety culture by actively participating in safety initiatives and fostering safe work practices. Assist in managing safety risks, monitoring equipment, and contributing to performance outcomes. Ensure compliance with EHS legislative requirements and the Company’s EHS policies, procedures, and standards among team members and contractors.

 

Qualifications/Experience

Minimum Qualification

(Educational Qualifications, Trainings, or Certifications)

  • Bachelors in engineering or science
  • NEBOSH International General Certificate
  • Train-the-Trainer certification
  • ADOSH Practitioner certification

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of Health and Safety experience, including hands-on field experience and safety training delivery

Language(s) Known

  • Arabic (Preferred)
  • English (Essential)
