General Summary
Implementing , Executing and delivering of the various activities in the billet handling area aimed at ensuring smooth production and delivering quality product to the customer
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Executes Billet Handler duties assigned by the supervisor according to production requirements. • To ensure availability of consumables and tools required for carrying out billet handling operation in the CC machine as supervised • Ensures that all Billet Handling safeties in the machine are working and abides by the company policy to confirm to safety regulations. • Ensure separation between heats in sequence and take samples whenever it is necessary. • Ensure stacking out of specification heats separately from good billets and identify them. • Ensures that Casting work area is clean and free of any obstacles or encumbrances to avoid accidents or hazards
Essential Duties and Responsibilities(Contd)
Ensures the effective implementation of Billet Handling operational policies covering all areas of the casting plant so that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a cost –effective quality product to Casting operation. • Carries out Billet Handling timely check on the billet quality to ensure consistent product quality • Carries out billet dispatch activity timely as per plant requirements & rolling mill requirements. • Maintain production data in computer, SAP & department register. • Ensure appropriate action is taken to overcome emergency situation in the billet handling area by manual gas cutting or manually operating the discharge device as need arises as instructed. • Housekeeping, mille scale cleaning & 5S maintain in working area.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- To impart training for new employees • To coordinate with cranes and the casting operator regarding the quality of billets supplied by the CC plant.

Minimum Education Qualification (Education Degree)
Any preferred professional training
Diploma in Engineering or similar•
In-depth technical knowledge of Steel Making and Continuous Casting operations
Professional Experience (Must haves)
Minimum 5-7 Years in a Steel Plant as a Billet handler
Previous Experience/exposure Recommendations
Ability to cut with oxy-cutting and welding

- To ensure that all relevant safety, health, environmental management policies & procedures are abided to guarantee employee safety • To ensure shift production targets are achieved to meet the annual production plan of the section & department • To ensure that the billets supplied to the RM or export order through material handling are of acceptable quality
