DRP & Jetty Operator

General Summary

Ensure safe handling and operations of Equipment’s under DRP-MH & Jetty including all activities related to the Material Handling Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Key Accountabilities)

Raw Material Control:

  • Operates the stacker / reclaimer equipment and belt conveyor system for receiving and stacking the raw materials discharged.
  • Supply raw materials to DR day bins by means of reclaimer equipment and belt conveyor system as per quantity and quality requirements

 Jetty Operation

  • Communicate with barge upon arrival at jetty.
  • Berthing signal at jetty hopper as per phase.
  • Material confirmation & cargo details such as timing, quantity.
  • Start the system before arrival 01 hour Berge and communicate with control room & stacker operator.
  • Maintain the flow rate as per material density.
  • Collection of sample for QC Lab.
  • Upon completion inform supervisor & give Barge detail with sample.

 Stacker Operation

  • Before startup system properly visual checking.
  • Make boom position & yard confirmation.
  • If MVH-01, or MVH-02, need movement during stacker operation.
  • Discharge full Barge confirmation with jetty operation without any delay.

 IOP Supply

  • Oxide route inspection by visual including yards, roads, screen, MVH-01 & MVH-02, magnetic separator & oxide fines bin area.
  • Material confirmation with control room with N05 reading record in log book.
  • Hopper positioning, if need cleaning then clean with MH CONTRACTOR team, for cleaning PTW is must.
  • Communicate with MH Contractor shovel operator & maintain the flow rate as per control room need.
  • Time to time communicate with MH CONTRACTOR dump truck operator for empty out oxide fines with given material movement slip.
  • During charging observe all conveyors for smooth operation.

Product Route & DRI Supply

  • All product system (N-18, N-11, Screen, N-12, N-19, N-14, Pit-09 & Pit-10, visually checking and temperature recording.
  • Control room contact with MH operator & MH supervisor when need Cooler discharge.
  • Control room confirmed about material where it is screen or un screen coming to pit-10 or pit-13.
  • Operator communicate with MH CONTRACTOR dump truck operator and shovel loader operator with relevant pit.
  • After receiving material taken temperature and arranged specified yard.
  • Time to time taken temperature.
  • If screen DRI received then time to time empty out DRI fines bin by communicate with control room & MH CONTRACTOR team.
  • If DRI caught fire then try out to remove hot material & spread out.

 Cleaning Activity

  • ­­Follow up of cleaning activity of product route.
  • ­­Follow up of cleaning activity of oxide route.
  • Requesting PTW for all kind of cleaning activity, along with Tools Box Talk TBT given to MH CONTRACTOR team.
  • Time to time inspection for cleaning job, location, PPE of MH CONTRACTOR team.

 Dispatch Activity

  • Follow up Dispatch Cold DRI
  • Follow up Dispatch of DRI Fines.
  • Follow up Dispatch of Oxide Fines.
  • Follow up Dispatch of Sludge.
  • Maintain log book with sales order number of trucks.
  • Conduct TBT prior to dispatch activity to third party.
  • Sample taken of all kind of material and given to lab including dispatch material.

  Inspection & Monitoring:

  • Operates and control the belt conveyor system for DR Plant.
  • Inspect stacking and supplying material from non-confirmed material and take appropriates measurements to ensure that materials quantity is in conformance with specification.
  • Carry out routine inspection, adjustment, checking and cleaning of equipment’s in order to ensure safe operation and unplanned interruptions are minimized.
  • Identify and report immediately any problem, discrepancy or abnormality in equipment / facility or process, to allow appropriate, prompt corrective action to be taken.
  • Followed the monthly maintenance schedule to inspect/repair/overhaul in order to ensure that equipment is operating to the highest possible standards on an ongoing basis.
  • Parameters and current equipment operation/conditions to ensure that the shift is handed over with full and clear information.
  • Participate in the on-the-job trainee operators and hired manpower to ensure that they develop the necessary skills to independently operate the equipment’s in the assigned facility.
  • Carry out routine, on the job equipment maintenance and minor repair and identify and communicate other maintenance/repair needs to the senior technician or shift supervisor for onward communication to the Maintenance Department.

     

 Health Safety & Environment and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all operating, safety environment and quality procedures are followed in order to ensure the highest standards operation.
  • In case of emergency, take all necessary counter measure and contact appropriate staff as laid down in the operating procedures in order to ensure that any risk to personal, plant or process operation is minimized.
  • Take and records readings of materials and daily operating conditions, perform standard data analysis if appropriate and record all data in specified log sheets according to set operation procedures.
  • Communication clearly with concerned section and operators on the next shift about operation

  • Certificate / License in relevant area
  • Specific knowledge and understanding of both material types and process operation in own area.
  • Full knowledge of equipment and controls.
  • Complete knowledge of operation and safety procedures and standards.
  • Analytical capability.
  • Safety consciousness
  • Physical fitness

 

Minimum Education Qualifications (Must Haves)      Any preferred professional training (Nice to have)

  • School education (High School)
  • Computer Skills

 

  • Understanding English

Professional Experience (Must haves)                        Previous Experience/exposure Recommendations (Nice to have)

  • 3 years relevant experience in operation
  • Exposure to industrial environment
