Day Technician - Finishing

General Summary

To perform the maintenance overhauling activities of Finishing Section throughout the plant with high proficiency, quality and maximum safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Implement Production Optimization:

  • To execute all scheduled corrective maintenance and major repairs of the equipments in order to optimize production & minimize plant down time for maintenance related works.

Facilitate Corrective Action:

  • Responsible for trouble shooting during shutdowns of mechanical equipments and provide the assistance to find out the root cause for corrective action in maintenance related works.

Prevent System Abnormalities:

  • Responsible for attending mechanical maintenance problems during shutdowns in the Plant and communicate to superiors of any abnormalities found in the equipment in order to plan & rectify the same.
  • Check & confirm availability of tools & tackles.

Meet Engineering/ Safety Principles:

  • Inspection of equipments to meet engineering principles and safety regulations in maintenance related works in Finishing Section.

Assistance & Support:

  • To assist and help the Sr. Technician Workshop – Finishing in all technical areas to ensure smooth maintenance of equipments during shutdowns.
  • To act as Sr. Technician in absence of Sr. Technician or as & when required by Section.

Following Standards:

  • Follow mechanical maintenance standards for all equipment in Workshop – Finishing.

Observe Health, Safety and Environmental practices:

  • To follow all relevant safety, quality, health and environmental management policies, procedures applicable to maintenance.

Minimum Education Qualifications (Must Haves)      Any preferred professional training (Nice to have)

  • I.T.I. in Mechanical Fitter trade
  • Technical knowledge of predictive & preventive maintenance.
  • Knowledge & Skill of Trouble Shooting of Mechanical problem.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and Hydraulic circuits.

 

Professional Experience (Must haves)                        Previous Experience/exposure Recommendations (Nice to have)

  • 3-5 years experience in Mechanical maintenance of Steel Plant as a Technician / Fitter
  • Knowledge of rigging and slinging
