Feedstock Crane Operator
General Summary
Responsible for overhead and remote crane, operating a stationary or traveling crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. Observe and make sure loads are safely attached and within lifting limits. Crane operator must also process a valid crane driver’s license.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Key Accountabilities)
- Operate the crane under own and general supervision and handling the Beam blanks in the yard as lifting and stacking of material.
- Manipulate or depress crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions.
- Inspect crane for safety issues daily.
- Determine if any parts are malfunctioning and inform to the Feed stock controller/Supervisor.
- Work with QC departments for position bars for inspection
- Scale skips position and removal as when required.
- Work within precise limits and safety standards.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Knowledge and layout of other area inside HSM to carry out crane driver duties as required.
- Lift, position and place machinery, equipment or other large objects.
- Assist in clearing the cobbles and later disposing them as required.
- Monitor and removing filled skips and fix back empty skips in place.
- Set up and change cold saw blades, strapping machine as required.
- Assist with crane 123 for RSM roll build up as when required.
- Drive with crane 115 when required for cobble bars or issues on cooling banks.
