Grinding Operator

General Summary

To Grind and groove the tungsten carbide rolling rings as per required rolling size and stand. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Key Accountabilities)

 

Grinding the Tungsten carbide rings as per required pass schedule.

Keeping ready the Grooved rings for the required size to be rolled.

Carry out Notching and logo marking for the Re-bar rolling rings

Grind the tungsten carbide Guide rollers for the B.G.V stands.

To carry out the redressing of out profile grinding wheels to size.

To adhere to the company QEHS policies.

 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

To work on the other machines as instructed by the Supervisor

Understand the quality requirements of Carbide ring grinding for a high speed block mill since it is very critical in achieving a quality product.

 

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities (attributes) required

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

Knowledge of the carbide ring grinding machine operation.

Knowledge of notch milling as per the required international standards.

Knowledge of installing correct programs for the work to be done.

Knowledge of changing machine lubricants and coolants in required time.

Knowledge of other CNC machines.

 

Minimum Education Qualifications (Must Haves)      Any preferred professional training (Nice to have)

High School ( English)

Training on CNC Machines.

 

Professional Experience (Must haves)                        Previous Experience/exposure Recommendations (Nice to have)

Minimum 4 years on CNC grinding operation.

 

Key Performance Indicators

Organizes priorities as per the rolling schedule.

Uses the Grinding wheels in an effective way

Keeps the records of the work performed.

Keeps record of Wheel consumption.

Utilizes the spare time to redress the wheels
