Manager - DRP 2 Mechanical Maintenance

Role Purpose

Providing engineering advice and front-line technical support to Direct Reduction Mechanical maintenance team to ensure smooth operation of plant (minimize down time and increase the plant availability & consumption of spares with cost consciousness).

 

Accountability & Activities

Key Activities

Leadership and Supervision:

  • Develop a highly competent and motivated work force. Prepare staff reports, task and targets, development plan, training and leave schedules.
  • Prepare maintenance plans for all mechanical equipment’s of Direct Reduction in coordination with the planning section.
  • Discuss operations problems and optimizations with operations department in coordination with the Departmental Manager Direct Reduction.
  • To lead, develop, train and evaluate Direct Reduction maintenance team (instruction and guidance to Supervisor, Sr. Technician & Technician)

Budgeting & Costing:

  • Responsible for preparing & proposing accurate and optimized annual budgets for management approval to implement the operational plan effectively and managing maintenance activities within the allocated budgetary provisions to ensure cost effectiveness.

 Planning for Contingency:

  • Responsible for planning and execution of scheduled preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and major repairs to optimise production & reduce downtime.
  • Responsible for trouble shooting during breakdowns all related equipment and facilities.
  • Identify frequent equipment failure and breakdowns and find out the root cause to solve the problems (if required modify in existing design).

 Manage Delivery Targets

  • Manage Direct Reduction section resources and activities and ensure deliveries are met according to agreed tasks and targets in a professional, responsible and cost-effective manner.

Policies and Procedural Implementation

  • Ensure that all mechanical equipment’s of Direct Reduction are inspected, maintained or overhauled in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner, according to best maintenance philosophies, procedures and practices.

Safety, Quality & Environment

  • Ensure compliance to all relevant management policies, procedures, and controls within the Projects division of ESA to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

 

Qualifications/Experience

Minimum Qualification

(Educational Qualifications, Trainings, or Certifications)

  • B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from recognized university

Professional Experience

  • 8 years and above experience in Direct Reduction Plant Mechanical Maintenance as Head Mechanical or equivalent
  • 4 Years and above in a middle Management Position
  • 3 Years and above in implementation of engineering principles
