General Summary

The prime contribution of the Rolling Mills #01 Electrical & Automation Maintenance Manager is accountable for the availability of RM#01 assets under his control to enable operations to meet annual budgets. Further, the Rolling Mills #01 Electrical Maintenance Manager is accountable for execution of all preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance through works management processes as per works management procedures to ensure compliance to KPI’s.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Strategic Contribution: ▪ Ensure the Execution & Development Robust Day to Day Maintenance Strategy (During Plant Operation and/or during Short Shutdowns (Weekly down day in RM and opportunity shutdowns) & prepare Maintenance Program in line with the best practices in Steel Industrywith an emphasis on planning/scheduling Preventing/Predictive/Condition Based/CorrectiveMaintenance. ▪ Obtain approval and Implement the Annual Plan, Policies & Procedures for RM001 Electrical & Automation Maintenance Department to enable the achievement of Emirates Steel agreed Business Objectives. ▪ Periodic review to align with Corporate Objectives. Initiate Implement and Manage Plan. ▪ Provide professional advice and support to all levels of the business on Electrical & Automation related issues to ensure the production capability of the business is optimized. Job Profile • Leadership: o Ensure the effective achievement of RM Maintenance’s functional objectives through leadership in maintenance function – setting departmental & individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal – to ensure that the highest level of performance is achieved. • Budgeting & Cost Control: o Prepare & Manage annual budget and operating plans that accurately represent anticipatedRM 001 Electrical & Automation Maintenance Execution Department costs to allow accurate business planning and costmanagement. Budgeting and Control includes followings: ▪ Preparation, review and Optimize Annual OPEX Budget requirement with properjustification for each of the Cost Centers of RM 001 Electrical & Automation Maintenance Dept. ▪ Preparation, review and Optimize Annual CAPEX Budget requirement with properjustification for each of the Cost Centers of RM 001 Electrical & Automation Maintenance Dept.. ▪ Presentation of required OPEX & CAPEX budget and getting approval from relevantapproval authorities. ▪ Review and Close Monitoring & Cost Control of Actual OPEX & CAPEX Cost to ensurecost saving, keeping Maintenance Cost in line with best practice in Steel Industry

• Organization Development: Define an optimum organization structure for the RM 001 Electrical & Automation Maintenance Department so that resources are optimally utilized and communication can take place in an efficient manner. Responsible for recruiting the manpower with the required skill & competencies amongst available & plan their deployment.  Conduct employee performance review based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge and performance & enhancement of the same. • Operational Management: Direct the planning, allocation of resources and oversee the implementation of appropriate process, controls and instructions in the RM 001 Electrical & Automation Maintenance Department to ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out in an efficient and cost effective manner.  Personally resolve critical problems in order to minimize production downtime. Respond to emergencies, ensuring that operational targets are not unnecessarily prejudiced by breakdowns and losses are minimized. Provide technical input for the resolution of major Electrical & Automation problem to minimize down time and enhance plant performance. • Maintenance Planning: Develop the Electrical & Automation maintenance program in a systematic andpredictive manner, so that the unplanned shutdowns are minimized. Recommend & Coordinate with third party maintenance services provider to ensure availability of resources in a timely manner.  Trend analysis of key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance etc.Capital Planning: Recommends capital expenditure plan for the RM 01 Electrical & Automation Maintenance Department to ensure that the company has the physical capability to meet its strategic objectives.  Direct the ongoing review of the physical condition of all physical assets in the RM 001 Electrical & Automation. Execution Department to ensure that those assets are in a suitable condition to allow theorganization to fulfill its strategic objectives and they comply with any relevant legislation.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

Safety, Quality & Environment: Direct & follow up all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls across the RM 001 Electrical & Automation Maintenance Department to promote awareness on employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude. HSE responsibilities include, but are not limited to following • Lead from the front by ensuring meeting all personal HSE Leading KPIs. • Setting HSE KPIs for the Team & ensuring full compliance. • Direct, Maintain and ensure the Maintenance Team follows Emirates Steel Health, Safety,and Environment procedure through regular Audits and timely closure of H&S related Actions. • Policies & Procedures:  Direct the development of policies covering all areas of RM 001 Electrical & Automation Maintenance Execution Department so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering quality, cost effective services to customers. • Analysis and Reporting: Prepare senior management reports based upon analysis of various activities so that action plans can be developed to address line stoppage and fault analysis issues and hence improve maintenance service to internal customers. Perform trend analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc. • Team effectiveness: Ensure that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner. Communicate regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two way communication concerning maintenance issues. • Employee performance review Conduct employee performance review based on job descriptions to determine the competency, knowledge, and contribution of the maintenance technician.

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities required

In-depth knowledge of steel making process i.e. preferably Rolling Mills possibly integrated steel plants Experience with repairs and maintenance of processing equipment. ▪ Experience with repairs and maintenance of processing equipment. ▪ Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, e.g., word processing, email, and spreadsheets. ▪ Ability to work effectively with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably SAP, and instruct others on its operation. ▪ Excellent management, communication and leadership skills ▪ Ability to effectively lead a team of people and manage interdependent relationships with various stakeholders

Minimum Education Qualification (Education Degree)

Bachelor in Engineering

Any preferred professional training

University Degree in Electrical / Electronic’s Engineering.

  • Trained on Electrical & Automation  Maintenance pertaining to rolling mills or integrated steel plants.

         Reliability/Asset Management qualifications

Professional Experience (Must haves)

More than 10 years’ Electrical & Automation experience in steel plant including 8 years in a Management position in an Integrated Steel Plant.

Previous Experience/exposure Recommendations

  • Working experience of Leading Multidiscipline
  • Working experience in any of the Middle- east countries (familiar with rules and regulations, climatic conditions…)
  • Health & Safety compliance systems experience.
  • Asset Management or Reliability

Conduct Audit to ensure adherence to plans, policies & procedures.

Establish and maintain a Computerized Maintenance Management System for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
