General Summary

Implementing various activities in the EAF/LRF to ensure smooth melting and refining activities as per production requirement

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Carries out Melter duties assigned by the supervisor according to production requirements • To ensure sufficient availability of Melter machinery, consumables and tools required for smooth running of the furnace • Ensure that the hot repairs of the furnace are done with utmost care and as per the work instruction and guidance given by the supervisor. • In case of any abnormalities observed during execution of work, inform the supervisor and seek guidance for Health Safety implementation • Ensures that all safeties in the furnace and ladle furnace are working and abides by the company HSE policy to confirm to safety regulations. • Ensures that EAF section work area is clean and free of any obstacles or encumbrances. • Ensures the effective implementation of operational policies covering all areas of the EAF/ LRF work so that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a cost –effective quality product to operation.

• In case of an emergency situation, co-operates with the supervisor and acts in accordance with the operational procedures/work instructions for Steel Making Plant • Ensures that all safeties in the furnace and ladle furnace are working and abides by the company HSE policy to confirm to safety regulations. • Ensures that EAF section work area is clean and free of any obstacles or encumbrances. • In case of an emergency situation, co-operates with the supervisor and acts in accordance with the operational procedures/work instructions for Steel Making Plant. • Housekeeping, cleaning & maintain 5S in working area. • NQA Job Responsibility • Shall be responsible for performing steel melting activities as specified in the Emirates Steel QS Program to ensure compliance to applicable Standards, ASME Code and Customer requirements

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

To impart training for new employees • To coordinate with cranes, Refractory and CCM sections • To coordinate with LRF, CCM & MH on a regular basis to optimise the productivity of the plant

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities required

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

· Sufficient Technical knowledge of furnace and melting parameters

· Good Planning Skills

· Time Management

Minimum Education Qualification (Education Degree)

Higher Secondary
Diploma

Any preferred professional training

Higher Secondary School/ ITI

In-depth technical knowledge of Melting applications using DRI

Professional Experience (Must haves)

Around 3-5 Years in a Steel Plant as a Melter

Previous Experience/exposure Recommendations

Around 3 Years with a steel plant having a EAF/LF/CCM production route with DRI
