Operator-Piler

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Key Accountabilities)

• To operate the piling area as per standard working procedures & ensure not to cause any damages to the equipment’s.
• Always observe various monitors provided in the area, analyze graphs and be able to modify the bundles details as per their quality & ensure required orders will be fulfilled with prime Quality.
• Communicate upstream and downstream to ensure optimal operating conditions and reducing delays
• To be aware of safe operating procedures required to operate, starting, stopping/shutdown the Piling equipment & Mobilizing-immobilizing the area.
• Monitor all stacker & Piler area equipment’s for any malfunction, defects or faults and give feedback to required personnel & to the senior.
• Ensure that all the labels and tags applied are having correct information and properly sticking with the bars. No bars should go to storage area without proper identification.
• Changing strapping machine & replacing straps in the machine as per requirements
• Housekeeping & Scale cleaning in and around stacker & piling area, assist with crane operator for scrap length removal whenever required & especially during long crops, down day/shut down.
• Demonstrate and improve production processes to ensure greater mill efficiency.
• Maintain records in a well-documented manner & maintain the documents in a designated location.
• To keep the work area always clean and tidy outside as well as inside the pulpit.
• Follow all management directives, regulations and policies relating to safety, quality, health and environment.
• Process Gag press material for re-bundling whenever required & ensure the bundling is done without mixing other bar bundles or other quality together.
• Arrange in advance & process re-straightening material in safe quick way.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with cleaning duties during stoppage and down periods.
• Learn and assist with cold saw duties to release personnel for short periods

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

• Knowledge on basic principles of mill process automation like level 2 & SAP.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic knowledge on all the finishing area & especially cold saw operation.
• Good written and spoken English skills.
• Good Communication skills.
• Attentive to watch all the area monitor, computer or other indicators to make sure all the machine are working properly and the material obtain after cutting are prime & has no any defects.

Minimum Education Qualifications (Must Haves)      Any preferred professional training (Nice to have)
