General Summary
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning the work that is to be executed in their respective area. Execution to be during Weekly Online and offline maintenance windows. Additionally, the role looks to continuously improve the maintenance plans and strategies executed during these events and seek feedback to improve the quality of planning.
· Enable the safe and efficient execution of shutdown asset strategies & maintenance work, by detailed job preparation
· Establish standard job plans for repetitive shutdown maintenance tasks and thereby foster standardization
· Ensure all improvements in the work execution process are clearly communicated and implemented
· Primary Custodian of Area/Disciple maintenance plans
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Providing detailed job plans that insure safe and efficient execution of all maintenance jobs
· Follow management of change process if new materials are required for job completion
· Managing the work notification and work order backlog by:
· Returning incomplete or poorly defined work notifications
· Reviewing backlog and planning list
· Grouping notifications together that can be planned and worked as a single order
· Coordinating with production to ensure job plans meet the timing requirements of production
· Developing or copying the work order job plan and clearly documenting required skill crafts, duration, specialty tools and necessary equipment
· Creating purchase order for necessary components
· Building the job plan library, including ensuring accurate plans exist for high-frequency jobs
· Continually updating job plans to ensure necessary changes or improvements are incorporated, and efficiencies are captured
· Forwarding completed “ready to schedule” job packages to the Scheduler
· Process all notifications through to a state of Planned for all work orders.
· Execute planning of work orders by identifying priority identifiers such as Critical equipment, Statutory Inspections, PMs and Priority assignment.
· Ensure all planning functions are completed prior to the assignment of Planned status on an order i.e.. operation steps, labor assignment and estimated work, components and procured services, work instructions and other supporting documentation, JSERA, system condition, maintenance activity type, execution dependencies and relationships (must start, must finish etc.), and total planned costs.
· Identify opportunities for detailed scoping and planning that require further input from maintenance technicians and engineering teams.
· Leverage knowledge and expertise within the Mechanical and Electrical workshop for the development of Risk assessments
· Identify required changes to site Master Data and Documentation systems and assist in their implementation through the Emirates Steel Management of Change systems.
· Measure performance and strategy effectiveness through the site planning metrics.
· Assist with long term budget development and preparation, leveraging PM Task lists details
· Implement and manage plant reliability with an emphasis on preventative/predictive maintenance using best practices from within Emirates Steel and other industries.

Adequate craft knowledge and skill to accurately estimate labor hours, material requirement and skills needed to complete a job
· Demonstrated organizational and planning skills
· In-depth knowledge and understanding of maintenance processes and proper use of the work management system, planning and scheduling
Minimum Education Qualification (Education Degree)
Bachelor in Degree or Engineering
Any preferred professional training
SAP maintenance modules
Professional Experience (Must haves)
5 years Trade or engineering experience in relevant industry.
