General Summary

Manage the demand and supply planning function for Steel Making Plant raw materials and refractory materials and tracking material movement from receiving, storage & supplying. Update inventory stock records for facilitating effective planning function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Storage Planning:

· Control the stock level for the material of the Steel Making Plants and ensure to keep optimum stock level by proper distribution of the incoming materials.

· Assisting Section Head/Supervisor in preparation and updating of storage location plans.

Record Maintenance:

· Keeping track of Purchased Requisition and monitoring the status.

· Data compilation of Delivery Notes for the materials received and Material Requisition for the material supplied and uploading of the transactions in SAP system as required and ensure accurate data processing. GRN creation, Material issuance and transfer in SAP System.

· Creation of GRN and finalize the required GRN signatories and final submission to Finance Department for payment.

· Coordinate with SAP team to resolve discrepancies in the inventory of raw materials consumed and record generated in Level 2.

· Uploading of Steel Making Plants Bi-products and scrap data in SAP and uploading transfer transaction of RMs scrap to SMP.

Supply Management:

· Monitors and assist in adherence to (First in First Out) FIFO system in supplying of refractory and raw materials and prevent the expiration of the material by proper coordination with the end user.

· Support periodic physical stock verification and reconciliation for maintaining accurate stock records of Inventory.

· Keep track of missing identification/tracing for missing labels and items of SMP refractory and raw materials.

· Coordinate with SMP end user for the any issues regarding the consumption of the materials.

· Assist sectional staff on preparation, implementation and monitoring of systems and procedure for (Integrated Management System) IMS and regulatory compliance of standards and Work Breakdown Structure as related to Procurement and Logistics Section.

Human Resource Management Facilitation:

· Provide assistance in administrative function of the section including manpower, leave, overtime, safety & environment etc. for compliance to organizational policies and instructions as related to Procurement & Logistics management.

Security & Safety:

· Ensure adequate security and safety for all assets incoming and outgoing to Procurement and Logistics Department.

· Assist section head/supervisors in exercising control on expenditure, investigation of safety & environment incidents

· Assist section head/supervisors in accomplishing sectional objectives & action plans. etc.

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities required

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

· Basic knowledge of Safety and environmental aspects of handling & storage

· Familiarity and importance of different verities of Steel Making Plant refractory and raw materials and basic quality aspects.

· Experienced in working in computerized work environment and inventory management including FIFO and tracking movement of Finished goods

· Ability to use SAP system, Microsoft office etc. to generate MIS reports

· Good Knowledge in Warehousing, Materials / Supply Chain Management and SAP system. Advanced knowledge on Excel and other systems.

· Excellent interpersonal communication skills with good command overwritten & spoken English.

· Candidate should possess sound understanding of logistic control, ability to read & understand technical specifications

Minimum Education Qualification (Education Degree)

Bachelor in Engineering or Business / Management

Any preferred professional training

Professional Experience (Must haves)

Minimum 05 years warehousing with extensive knowledge and experience on industrial inventory management, which as well includes a computerized inventory control system.

Key Performance Indicators

· Implement materials requirement planning and forecast material requirements based on the SMP production plan (Demand and Supply Planning) for SMP refractory and raw materials in order to sustain continuous production.

· Maintaining stock with an economically acceptable optimum level min/max 1.5-2.5 months, by analyzing historical usages, change in lead times and change in usage patterns.

· Analyze Steel Making Plant refractory and raw material consumption & recommend changes of MRP data if needed. Material requirement planning & control.

· Ensure that all long lead-time items are monitored/reviewed/revised in order to efficiently sustain optimized inventory level.

· Replenishment of stock items by generating PR’s, monitoring critical & urgent PR’s and follow-up with Procurement/Expediters on all past due Purchase orders.

· Reducing inventory levels with high level customer service. Reducing of non-moving inventory value.

· Provide feedback to the Buyer for the out of specifications material received.

· Follow up the status of the technical evaluations when required for PR’s. Analyze requests from Purchase/Suppliers for change of specifications or replacement and obtain consent from the concerned end users & Enriching master data

· Development & continues improvement of MRP process & the use of ERP system

· Ensure the company practices and policies of safety, quality and environment are adhered to.
