General Summary
Meet all equipment requirements in line with the HSM rolling program. Build and maintain an inventory of spare parts and consumables. Operate the SAP system to maintain roll shop requirements. Create and follow up purchase requests for Roll Shop requirements Manage all aspects of equipment movements within the Roll Shop. Roll Shop roll management planning & a proactive approach to change are required to suit the day to day running of the HSM. The highest standards of Health & Safety are required at all times & this will be measured against the overall Roll Shop performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Health, Safety, Quality & Environment (HSQE):
- Proactive, honest, and personally responsive approach to HSQE
- Must be aware of and adhere to HSEQ precautions in the Roll Shop and other applicable areas.
- Maintain high personal standards of safety and housekeeping
- Competent and decisive action to emergency conditions.
Planning
- Liaise with the Mill Shift Supervisor, Section Head Rolling Processes & Roll Shop shift CNC Supervisors.
- Check on program requirements & meet any changes.
- Plan CNC roll requirements to meet HSM rolling program
Essential Duties and Responsibilities(Contd)
Operational Management:
- Manage all Roll Shop & CNC operations in line with production & engineering requirements to ensure optimum plant performance & product quality.
- Achieve & maintain high Health & Safety Standards throughout all operations.
- Report on any unsafe acts or conditions via the Near Miss reporting system.
- Attend all Safety meetings & training days.
- Attend all production & Engineering meetings as requested.
- Attend Roll Design meetings as requested.
- Report any HR issues to the Roll Shop Section Head.
Trouble Shooting:
- Weekly section progress meeting.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning:
- Accurate and timely reporting and communication of insights to the Engineering teams
Policies & Procedures:
- Proactive Approach to refining the applicable policies, procedures, systems and activities.
Leadership:
- A proactive approach to managing people & roll movement.
Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Track Consumable item costs and keep within roll shop budget.
- Plan and organize spare parts purchases within the roll shop budget.
Organization Development:
- Personal development training.
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities required
- Responsibility, Accountability, Competence and Reliability to deliver outstanding results.
- Thorough knowledge about functions of all areas of a Sections Mill Roll Shop activity.
- Product specifications and quality requirements in the Medium / Heavy Sections range (sheet pile preferred too).
- Knowledge about operation and maintenance of Section Mill Roll Shop & related problem solving
- Good written and spoken communication English skills.
- Strong computer and data analysis skills
- Ability to study and understand engineering drawings.
Minimum Education Qualification (Education Degree)
Any preferred professional training
Technical Diploma
- Hazard and Safety Awareness

Professional Experience (Must haves)
- 5 years’ experience in Heavy Section Mill (roll shop).
Previous Experience/exposure Recommendations
- AutoCAD and Programming Knowledge
- Customer Satisfaction, 100% compliance
- Minimize obsolete inventory, eliminate quality disputes.
