Senior Specialist- Indirect Services Procurement

 

Role Purpose

Sr. Specialist Indirect Services supports daily procurement operations by placing purchase orders and managing supply demands in line with corporate policies and service levels. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the role involves collaboration with internal stakeholders and category experts, ensuring compliance with procurement guidelines. The specialist provides accurate data, supports continuous improvement efforts, and contributes to team KPIs through effective communication and process alignment.

Key Activities

  1. Responsibilities

Category Strategy and Planning:

  • Supports the Executive Buyer, Category Expert and/or the Procurement Manager as required in the development of the annual sourcing plans and Business Target Agreements (BTA) for assigned categories in collaboration with end-user departments.
  • Supports the documentation of appropriate business knowledge required for an effective sourcing approach.

Strategic Sourcing and Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Supports the end-user department needs identification and spending profiling.
  • Participates in cross-functional teams and performs the project management of the assigned sourcing initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Cultivates strong, value-added relationships with internal stakeholder groups.
  • Treats internal stakeholders as key clients and aligns service and communication accordingly.
  • Supports internal Key Performance Indicators and continuous improvement targets.

Supplier Performance Management:

  • Measures and manages supplier/contractor performance for the assigned supplier relationships.
  • Drives continuous supplier performance improvement and corrective action plans for the assigned supplier relationships.

Negotiation and Best-Value Focus:

  • Performs negotiations on assigned sourcing projects.
  • Participates in negotiation planning and execution as required by the Category Expert, Procurement Manager and / or Executive Buyer.
  • Applies Total Cost of Ownership and Best-Value principles in sourcing.

Data Management and Procurement Standards:

  • Supports the data quality integrity for contracts and supplier databases.
  • Contributes to the development and improvement of Procurement standards, tools, policies, and procedures.

Performance Reporting and Safety Compliance:

  • Adheres to Procurement and safety policies and procedures.

Cross-Business Optimization:

  • Collaborates across multiple business lines to leverage the supplier base for improved performance, quality, efficiency, and cost optimization.

Stakeholder Trust and Global Sourcing:

  • Builds trust with internal partners and plays a pivotal role in the understanding of their needs, priorities, and commodities.
  • Provides input as required in the development of the relevant sourcing strategies aligned with business plans and objectives.

Supplier Evaluation and Cost Analysis:

  • Provides support as required on the assessment of supplier core competencies and competitive positioning leveraging cost models and benchmarking.

Results-Driven Approach:

  • Achieves results through RFx, spend analysis, contract evaluation, negotiations, as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with business and finance leaders to identify savings and improve controllership.

Advisor and Educator:

  • Serves as an advisor, facilitator, and educator to internal stakeholders on sourcing strategies.

  1. Ensure Safety and Regulatory Compliance:
  • Support the promotion of a strong safety culture by actively participating in safety initiatives and fostering safe work practices. Assist in managing safety risks, monitoring equipment, and contributing to performance outcomes. Ensure compliance with EHS legislative requirements and the Company’s EHS policies, procedures, and standards among team members and contractors.

 

Qualifications/Experience

Minimum Qualification

(Educational Qualifications, Trainings, or Certifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in business /Procurement/ Supply Chain Management from a recognized university.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience.
  • 2 years of experience in Purchasing

Language(s) Known

  • Arabic (Essential/Preferred)
