Senior Specialist- Procurement Compliance

Role Purpose

The Senior Specialist Procurement Compliance is responsible for ensuring procurement activities align with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in both government and commercial contracting environments. This role involves conducting compliance research, analysis, and audits to monitor and enforce adherence to standards. Coordinates audit follow-up action plans and provides regular progress reports to Management.

Key Activities

  1. Responsibilities

Support the Manager of Performance Excellence in the analysis of procurement activities utilizing multiple sources of data to identify and evaluate opportunities to standardize and streamline procurement processes.

  • Monitor regulatory changes in procurement and contracting environments, assess their impact on internal policies, procedures, and instructions, and ensure timely updates and implementation of necessary adjustments.
  • Mentor, coach, and train procurement personnel and other departments on compliance processes, sourcing policies, and procedures.
  • Update and maintain departmental instruction manuals, procedure guides, and forms, ensuring all documentation reflects current policies, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Acts as the focal point for all audits and supports Compliance Reviews and other Government/internal audits as requested.
  • Takes ownership of the audit report feedback and co-ordinates and follows-up on the development and timely execution of agreed action and improvement plans. 
  • Reports progress to Management regarding post-audit action and improvement plans, identifying shortfalls and continued non-compliances.
  • Support internal compliance system audits and assist with implementing necessary process changes to enhance compliance and operational efficiency.

  1. Ensure Safety and Regulatory Compliance:
  • Support the promotion of a strong safety culture by actively participating in safety initiatives and fostering safe work practices. Assist in managing safety risks, monitoring equipment, and contributing to performance outcomes. Ensure compliance with EHS legislative requirements and the Company’s EHS policies, procedures, and standards among team members and contractors.

 

Qualifications/Experience

Minimum Qualification

(Educational Qualifications, Trainings, or Certifications)

  • Degree in Business and/or Legal from a recognized university

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Procurement Administration in large corporate organizations and experience in managing Procurement governance.

Language(s) Known

  • Arabic (Essential/Preferred)
  • English (Essential)
