General Summary
Control the shift activities in terms of standard quality, quantity and safety through motivating the subordinates. Maintain shift team coordination and producing maximum output.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· To plan and arrange pass/size changing activities in a better prepared manner to minimize overall downtime.
· Better scheduling, tools management, material flow, execution and shop floor activities.
· Demonstrate and improve production processes to ensure greater mill efficiency.
· Work towards achieving departmental objectives and targets.
· Meet production challenges such as to meet very demanding and frequently changing, delivery and product- customization requirement.
· Identify production related technical problems and suggests solution thus ensuring continuous improvement. Suggests any modifications for improvement in productivity and quality.
· Ensure implementation of production policies and standard work practices covering all rolling mill areas activities. Monitor employees to actively follow and support all company policies and procedures.
· Responsible for safety of employees and equipment.
· Ensure compliance to all management directives, regulations and policies relating to safety, quality, health and environment. Demonstrate good control across the rolling mill to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude.
· Ensure the compliance that any employee who will operate the overhead crane should trained and passed the ESI Safe Crane Operation Training.

- Efficiency of the post is very critical as the entire shift activities are handled independently.
- This position plays a crucial role as a link between the workforce and the front-line management.
- Identify the deficiencies of team members and guide them towards improvement.

· Good knowledge about rolling process and in high speed block mill.
· Knowledge on computer.
· Strong skills in troubleshooting and quick decision-making ability.
· Basic idea on roll pass design.
· Knowledge about finished products quality and tolerances.
· Awareness on safety and safe working procedures.
· Planning and initiative.
· Technical report writing.
· Self motivated, ability to motivate people and able to lead a team.
Minimum Education Qualification (Education Degree)
Any preferred professional training
- BS degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical engineering
- Basics of roll pass design.
- Supervision and leadership.
Professional Experience (Must haves)
Minimum of 10 years experience as Supervisor in wire rod mill.
Previous Experience/exposure Recommendations
Work experience in high speed block mill operation.
Key Performance Indicators
· To reduce the operation delay below 3.6%.
· To reduce pass/guide delays below 6.3%
· To reduce non-prime coils below 0.3%.
· Zero accident.
· To make a near miss report twice/per month and Toolbox talk twice/month.
