Specialist MDM Quality

General Summary

 

MDM specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting Master Data Governance solutions within ESA. Configuring MDG to meet requirements and ensuring data quality and consistency across ESA

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Key Accountabilities)

  • Administer MDM Tool: Oversee and manage the operation and configuration of the MDM tool to ensure it runs efficiently and integrates well with ESA Group systems.
  • Develop MDM Guidelines: Create and document standards and procedures for managing master data to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Develop and Implement MDM Processes in the MDM Tool: Design and implement workflows and processes within the MDM tool to handle data management tasks effectively.
  • Implement Master Data Matching Rules in the MDM Tool: Set up and configure rules to identify and merge duplicate or similar data entries within the MDM tool.
  • Update/Modify Master Data in the MDM Tool as Per Business Requirements: Make changes to master data records in the MDM tool based on evolving business needs and requirements.
  • Periodically Assess and Ensure the Quality of Master Data: Regularly evaluate and maintain the quality of master data through accuracy and consistency checks.

 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Cross-Functional Meetings: Lead meetings with different departments to align on MDM strategies and requirements.
  • Conduct Workshops to Train End-Users on the MDM Tool: Provide training sessions and materials to educate end-users on the effective use of the MDM tool and adherence to guidelines.
  • Coordinate with IT Teams: Work with IT teams to ensure the MDM tool is properly integrated with other enterprise systems and application

 

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities (required)

  • Strong understanding of Master Data Management principles and practices
  • Proficiency in data modeling techniques to design and maintain master data models and schema
  • Familiarity with MDM tools and platforms such as Informatica MDM or SAP Master Data Governance
  • Experience in managing metadata related to master data to enhance data understanding and accessibility
  • Understanding of data security principles to safeguard sensitive master data
  • Meticulousness in managing and maintaining accurate and reliable master data
  • Ability to troubleshoot and address data-related challenges in master data management

Minimum Education Qualifications (Must Haves)

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or related field

 

Preferred professional training (Nice to have)

  • Relevant certifications, such as CDMP, DAMA, CPDM, Informatica MDM, or SAP MDG, are a plus

 

Professional Experience (Must Haves)

  • 5-7 years of experience in master data management, data governance, or a related field with focus on implementing on implementing and optimizing MDM solutions
  • Experience in data quality management, including data cleansing, validation, and enrichment
  • Proven track record in optimizing data management processes within complex environments
  • Experience in data integration and working with cross-functional teams to align master data with enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, and BI tools
  • Strong project management experience, including leading MDM implementation projects, managing timelines, and coordinating with stakeholders across various departments
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

 

 

Experience Recommended (Nice to have)

  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment, with a deep understanding of the operational processes and challenges specific to the industry

Key Performance Indicators (Indicative)                     

  • Average time to process and update master data records within the MDM system
  • Percentage of time the MDM system is available and operational
  • Number of data sources consolidated into a single, unified master data record
  • Percentage decrease in duplicate master data records over a specified period
  • Percentage of authorized users who regularly access and utilize master data
