Specialist - Trucks

Role Purpose

Own execution of flatbed truck transportation auctions and commercial negotiations to transport finished steel, ensuring competitive, timely rate capture to support Sales order fulfillment.

Accountabilities & Activities

Key Activities

• Coordinate on flatbed truck capacity to support Sales order fulfillment timelines.
• Report any capacity shortfalls that may affect Sales delivery commitments.

• Hand over awarded auction results (rates, transporters, routes) for contract issuance and SAP rate upload.
• Support invoice verification by providing auction-awarded rate data on request.

• Conduct monthly UAE flatbed truck transportation auctions on SCH.
• Coordinate with transporters on truck availability and capacity ahead of each auction cycle.
• Conduct commercial negotiations on flatbed trucks for Export via Fujairah/Sohar
• Coordinate with export transporters on capacity and route availability as needed.
• Flag any inland trucking capacity constraints that may affect vessel discharge or container evacuation planning.

• Communicate any transporter performance or capacity issues arising from the auction process.

• Provide auction rate confirmation to support invoice reconciliation as requested.

• Improve truck contracts from a safety, commercial, and operational perspective on an ongoing basis.

• Send auction results summary after each monthly UAE auction cycle and after any Export spot negotiation.
• Update the Manager on transporter capacity risks or auction irregularities.

Safety, Quality & Environment

• Ensure compliance to all relevant management policies, procedures, and controls within the Commercial Division of ESA to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

Qualifications/Experience

Minimum Qualification

(Educational Qualifications, Trainings, or Certifications)

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
• Shipping and Logistics Diploma/Certificate from a recognized institute.

Professional Experience

• 3+ years of experience in land transportation, logistics, or auction/tender processes
