General Summary

To perform the maintenance activities of Material Handling equipment’s in order to achieve the assigned targets such as minimize MH equipment’s down time and increase the plant availability & consumption of spares with cost consciousness

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Implement Production Optimization:

· To execute all scheduled (day-to-day, preventive) maintenance, corrective maintenance and major repairs of the equipments in order to optimize production & minimize Material Handling down time for maintenance related development works

Facilitate Corrective Action:

· Responsible for trouble shooting during breakdowns of mechanical equipments and provide the assistance to find out the root cause for corrective action maintenance related development works

Prevent System Abnormalities:

· Responsible for attending mechanical maintenance problems during breakdowns in the Material Handling. To communicate to superiors of any abnormalities found in the mill in order to plan & rectify the same.

Meet Engineering/ Safety Principles:

· Inspection of equipments to meet engineering principles and safety regulations in maintenance related development works.

Assistance & Support:

· To assist and help the Superiors in all technical areas to ensure smooth maintenance of the Material Handling for uninterrupted production and co-ordination with other departments.

Following Standards:

· Follow mechanical maintenance standards for all equipment in the Material Handling.

Observe Health, Safety and Environmental practices:

· To follow all relevant safety, quality, health and environmental management policies, procedures applicable to maintenance related development

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities required

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

· Technical knowledge of predictive & preventive maintenance of EOT Crane / Jib Crane.

· Knowledge & Skill of Trouble Shooting of EOT Crane / Jib Crane.

· Understanding of engineering drawings and Hydraulic circuits.

· Works with hand tools, measuring tools, portable tools and tackles.

· Fluency in spoken and written English language

Minimum Education Qualification (Education Degree)

Any preferred professional training

I.T.I. in Mechanical Fitter trade

Professional Experience (Must haves)

3-5 years experience in Mechanical maintenance of Steel Plant

Previous Experience/exposure Recommendations

Knowledge of rigging and slinging

· Ensure ‘Health, Safety and Environment’ with Zero accidents incurred by personnel

· ‘Optimization and minimum’ of cost for repairs, maintenance and downtime

· Ensure availability of material handling equipment through ‘scheduling and preparing’ machinery

· ‘Initiate corrective action’ for prompt clarification, resolutions and results of problems

· ‘Rectification of reviewed equipment’ with smooth transition and production
